Several cool things happened this week. One: a commenter told me to go F* myself one day and then apologized a day later. What? No one apologizes on Kinja. It’s like crying in baseball.
Then,
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
got a quarter of a million reads (along with 1,000 other comments not specifically telling me to do untoward things to myself). That’s pretty cool.
But, I also realized something: I have been recording podcasts without making videos at the same time. I’m recording the sound but wasting the light! So, now I make weekly videos. That means there are some pretty good topics I don’t have videos for - yet.
Well, there’s only one way to solve that. I’ll just have to sit down and make some stand alone videos for those classic topics. Like this week: I made a video on the Lemon Law. I did my first podcast on that topic - seeing how it is the primary focus of my practice - and a follow up a month or so ago. I won’t make videos of all the podcast topics. But the good stuff - like as-is and Magnuson-Moss - will be done.
So whenever the mood hits, gather the kids around the old pictobox and fire up a Lehto’s Law . You and your kin can watch and learn about the law and speculate about those books over my left shoulder. How many of them do you suppose I have actually read?
And this week’s podcast was a companion piece to the article - How To Avoid Auto Repair Scams.

This website may supply general information about the law but it is for informational purposes only. This does not create an attorney-client relationship and is not meant to constitute legal advice, so the good news is we’re not billing you by the hour for reading this. The bad news is that you shouldn’t act upon any of the information without consulting a qualified professional attorney who will, probably, bill you by the hour.

I bought your turbine car book and highly enjoyed it, just finished it last week.
That being said, I am a young curmudgeon and don’t want to watch videos/podcasts. Keep writing!

Thanks. I hope you saw the note I put up last week about the two books I have coming out next year. One on Tucker and one on the Winged Cars.

Santa Claus has promised me your book if I can behave myself between now and December. I forgot to get that in writing so keep your fingers crossed. On the other hand, he didn’t get the “behave” clause in writing either.

You haven’t read any of those books.
Source: My office, which is also filled with fancy looking books I haven’t read.

The funny thing is that the top shelf is primarily books I have written. I’ll admit that I just have them there for show, though.

I’m just wondering how many people will get the “no crying in baseball” reference.
Great video! I’ve got a topic for you, if you’re interested.

I’m always looking for good topics, so fire away. You can post it here or email me: Lehto@kennon.com
I always wonder about those kinds of things (movies or song references). You never know - but when they hit, they’re worth it.
Thanks!

I vote we get rid of Dr. Phil and Dr.Oz and give Dr. Lehto a 2 hour talk show.

Only if you let me confront B-listers and drug-addicted reality show “stars” about their lots in life. And I get to yell at them about how “I am trying to help you!”
All in a Texas drawl, of course.

Think of the long list of episodes from stars that will want your help with DUIs!

Can I charge them for legal representation and still exploit them for ratings on my show?
If so, this could create a profit vortex!

You think any of the other “Doctors” on the show follow the Hippocratic Oath? I am sure just being on TV gives you leeway on any ethics violations.

Well, the law degree is a Juris DOCTOR. But, I have not taken any Hippocratic Oath, so I think that’s my loophole. Sign me up!

Did the apology quickly follow him receiving a sternly-worded letter on “Law Offices of Steve Lehto” letterhead?

You’d think so, but no.
I told him to cut the obscenity out - and called him a “doofus.”
Sometimes, that’s better than legalese.

Zero, those books are only for the prestigious law shot - either for a commercial or for the “we will prove beyond any doubt that my client is innocent of all charges”
a news release is what happens next where “we are glad to have this case behind us and, while we disagree with the outcome, we believe this is the only way to move on”

doesn’t a vortex suck things away? did you learn about vortexes in those books behind you?

Although the jury disagreed, my client has always identified as an innocent individual.

I believe the plural of
vortex
is
vortices
. I learned THAT from a book!

They’re all pure as the driven snow.
That’s also how you identify the difference between a brilliant jurist and a judge seeking re-election.

I went on a photo hunt inspired by that and found this:
...which is kind of neat. I was able to pin it down as a ‘41 because apparently the chrome nose stripe is wider than a ‘40, and ‘42s have a vastly different grill.

Sorry for missing this. It was regarding the car with window sticker options different from the actual build.
